At the dawn of its 30th season in the MotoGP, Gresini Racing is determined to extend its partnership with Ducati. A new commitment that could propel the team to new heights, at the heart of a decisive regulatory cycle.
A Historic Collaboration
Gresini Racing, the iconic team based in Faenza, made its debut with Ducati in 2022, marking its return as an independent structure after a long collaboration with Aprilia. Before that, it had been a historic partner of Honda, with memorable seasons and an impressive record. In 2025, Gresini reached the peak of its art with Ducati, obtaining the title of vice-world champion. The dynamics of this collaboration seem solid and promising.
The leaders of Gresini Racing have not hidden their desire to renew this agreement for several months. Michele Masini, the team’s sporting director, reaffirmed it during the season presentation: “Year after year, our collaboration has improved, and the extension seems to be the natural path to follow.” A statement that only reinforces the belief that this union is destined to thrive.

This season, a true factory bike makes its appearance within the team, entrusted to Álex Márquez. In reward for his performances during the previous year, this new mount will allow the rider to express his ideas and be more involved in the development of the machine.
A Renewed Approach
Michele Masini specifies: “As far as we are concerned, as Gresini, I don’t believe there will be major changes in our approach. We will simply have more tools to better adapt the bike package to Álex’s requirements.” This reflects a willingness for optimization and adaptability in the face of challenges on the circuit.
With this new factory bike, Gresini Racing approaches the season with renewed confidence. The record of the previous year is outstanding: a second place in the team standings and among the riders. The troops led by Nadia Padovani are ready to confirm this success. “I expect us to start exactly like last year, that is, determined [and moving] step by step, without overdoing it,” declares Michele Masini.
A High Potential with Both Riders
This strengthened link with Ducati offers Gresini Racing a solid foundation to face the upcoming season. “After the tests last year, we already knew that the potential was high. Today, we are even more aware of it thanks to the results we have achieved, but personally, I would like to forget it since everyone starts with zero points,” explains Masini.
Prudence and determination seem to be the key words for this new season. “It will be very important to keep our feet on the ground,” he adds. “This time, we know we have something more, both with Álex who has the factory package thanks to Ducati Corse, and with Fermín [Aldeguer] who has gained a year of experience and therefore no longer needs to learn the tracks with the MotoGP.”
The Challenges Ahead
Every season in MotoGP is marked by challenges. Gresini Racing is no exception and will have to navigate between high expectations and the reality of performances on the circuit. The competition is fierce, and other teams will not miss opportunities to gain the upper hand.
The team’s strategy relies on good resource management and a deep understanding of the bike’s capabilities. With Álex Márquez at the helm of a factory machine, hopes are high. He will need to capitalize on his experience to turn these expectations into concrete results.
A Bright Future?
As Gresini Racing prepares for a season full of promises, the issue of renewing the contract with Ducati could prove crucial. A solid partnership can pave the way for future successes and ensure that the team continues to shine on the international stage.
Fans of MotoGP can expect a captivating spectacle this season, with a mix of strategy, passion, and performance. All eyes will be on Gresini Racing, which hopes not only to maintain its rank but also to reach new heights in the ruthless world of MotoGP.
