New Additions to the Audi Application Store
- “EasyPark” and “ryd” now available for Audi drivers
- “EasyPark” detects parking spots automatically and processes payments
- “ryd” facilitates payment for fueling, charging, and car washes through the MMI display
Audi is stepping up its digital game by integrating two new services into its app portfolio: “EasyPark” and “ryd”. These applications aim to streamline the driving experience by simplifying parking, refuelling, and charging processes—all from the comfort of the vehicle. The ultimate goal? To reduce the stress of finding parking and fuel stations, while ensuring users have the right payment options readily available.
Seamless Parking Experience with EasyPark
The “EasyPark” app provides Audi customers access to over 60,000 parking locations across approximately 1,300 European cities. Whether it’s public spaces, private lots, or parking garages, the app is designed for ease of use. Once the vehicle comes to a halt in a supported parking area and the transmission is shifted into park mode, a pop-up window appears on the MMI display. Users are then prompted with a message stating, “This parking area is supported by EasyPark. Tap here to start the parking process.” This functionality is made possible through GPS triggers that activate specific app features automatically.
With just a single tap, users can commence the digital parking process. The app also sends notifications as the prepaid parking time approaches its end, allowing users to extend their parking duration directly via their smartphone or the MMI system. The parking session concludes automatically when the vehicle exits the space and accelerates beyond 15 kilometres per hour.
All-in-One Solution with ryd
The “ryd” app offers a comprehensive solution for contactless fuelling, charging, and washing—eliminating the need for multiple applications. In Germany, it supports not just well-known chains like Aral and Esso, but also many local providers, covering over 10,000 fuel stations and more than a million charging points across Europe.
Here’s how it operates: nearby fuel stations are detected automatically. A pop-up window in the MMI display activates the app, allowing users to select their preferred fuel station, enter the pump number, specify the maximum fuel amount, and choose a payment method. After fuelling, drivers simply need to wait for confirmation on the MMI display before driving away.
For charging, the app assists in locating suitable charging stations. If the desired station is further away, users can set it as their navigation destination. The e-tron route planner then prepares the vehicle for charging. Upon arrival, “ryd” opens automatically, allowing users to select and activate the station before connecting the plug. The charging session can be concluded either by unplugging the connector or via the MMI display, with payment confirmation displayed shortly thereafter. This process is straightforward and does not require contracts with electricity providers or QR codes.
Expanding Digital Offerings
Audi continues to enhance its digital capabilities through a variety of third-party applications available in the Audi Application Store. From streaming platforms like Disney+, DAZN, and YouTube, to gaming and News services such as AirConsole and Bloomberg, the Audi Application Store is integrated directly into the MMI system. Notably, it operates independently of smartphones, requiring only a myAudi account and an active data connection for full functionality.
1 This service is available in vehicles without a panoramic display and the current version of the Audi Application Store. Vehicles equipped with a panoramic display also require software version 3.10 or higher (this can be verified in the “myAudi” app under all functions/software update).
