Strong Sales Performance in 2025
Munich. BMW Motorrad has reported impressive results for 2025, achieving over 200,000 motorcycle deliveries for the fourth consecutive year, totaling 202,563 units globally. This performance highlights both the enduring appeal of their model range and the operational efficiency of the brand.

Resilience in a Challenging Market
Despite facing a challenging market landscape characterized by a decline in the over-500 cc segment, volatile economic conditions, fierce price competition, regulatory hurdles, and new customs regulations, BMW Motorrad has managed to secure robust sales figures. Several key markets achieved record sales, including Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia, and the Netherlands.
Strong December Sales
In December alone, BMW Motorrad sold 15,109 motorcycles, marking the third-best December in the company’s history and providing a strong end-of-year boost.
Market Leadership and Strategy
Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, stated: “In a demanding market environment we played to our strengths and performed better than ever in many markets and segments. In key markets such as Germany, we even gained market share (+4.1 percentage points over 500 cc) and expanded our market leadership. Our leading position is attributed to our commitment to technological excellence, a consistent strategic focus on brand strength, and an attractive product lineup. I look to 2026 with great confidence.”
European Market Performance
In Europe, BMW Motorrad sold a total of 118,814 motorcycles, showing a slight increase from the previous year. Germany remains the largest market with 25,516 units sold, followed by France (19,019), Italy (16,692), and Spain (14,005). The Central Europe region also saw growth, achieving a new high of 12,248 units.
Key Contributions from Non-European Markets
Key markets outside of Europe also contributed significantly to the overall sales figures. The USA recorded 14,869 units sold, Brazil 14,488, and China 10,555, demonstrating strong performance despite various restrictions.
Success of New Models
The success of BMW Motorrad can be largely attributed to its appealing model range. The introduction of the BMW R 1300 RT, R 1300 R, and R 1300 RS generated immediate customer enthusiasm. The previously launched R 1300 GS Adventure also significantly boosted sales, while the new BMW R 12 G/S exceeded expectations in its debut year.
Top-Selling Models
The best-selling models included the iconic boxer variants: the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure (33,570 units) and the R 1300 GS (32,555 units), with the four-cylinder BMW S 1000 RR (11,643 units) following closely behind.
Middleweight and Sub-500 cc Segments
The middleweight class performed exceptionally well with 41,166 units sold, driven by strong performances from models such as the BMW F 800 GS, F 900 R, and F 900 GS. In the sub-500 cc segment, models from the G family performed solidly, despite the anticipation surrounding the upcoming launch of the new BMW F 450 GS. The Urban Mobility segment also made an impact with over 18,400 sales for the C 400 GT, C 400 X, and the fully electric CE 04 and CE 02.
Performance of Sporty Four-Cylinders
The sporty four-cylinder models also saw significant sales growth. The S-series alone accounted for 20,859 units sold; including M models such as the BMW M 1000 R, M 1000 RR, and M 1000 XR, the total for the four-cylinder segment reached 28,408 motorcycles.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As BMW Motorrad enters 2026, it remains confident with a broad and successful product portfolio aimed at reinforcing its position in the premium motorcycle segment. Upcoming highlights include the launch of the new BMW F 450 GS in spring and participation in the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy in autumn in Romania.
