Management Transition at Audi FAW NEV

Effective April 1, 2026, Jörg Menges will take over as CEO of Audi FAW NEV Company Ltd., succeeding Helmut Stettner, who will return to Ingolstadt after a successful tenure.

Jörg Menges: A Seasoned Executive

Menges brings over 31 years of international automotive experience to his new role. Since 2022, he has been Head of Product Engineering at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt. His prior position as Plant Manager at FAW-Volkswagen-Automotive Co., Ltd. in Changchun provided him with significant insights into localized production and management.

Strategic Leadership for Electrification

Gerd Walker, Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at AUDI AG, highlighted Menges’ qualifications, stating: “Jörg Menges is an experienced manager, strong strategist, and proven production expert. His previous role in China equips him with a deep understanding of the market and valuable connections within the Group. He will lead the company into the next phase and consistently develop the production site as part of our electrification strategy for the Chinese market.”

Helmut Stettner’s Legacy

During his five-year leadership, Helmut Stettner laid a robust foundation for Audi’s electrification strategy in China. Walker acknowledged Stettner’s contributions, stating: “I would like to thank Helmut Stettner for his enthusiastic commitment to the company. He has been responsible for the development of the company and the production site in Changchun from the very first second and most recently successfully implemented the market launch of its first product portfolio with his team.”

Audi’s Commitment to E-Mobility

Audi FAW NEV Company Ltd. has established a dedicated automotive site in Changchun, marking Audi’s first production facility in China focused solely on electric models. The company aims to deliver sustainable and innovative premium e-mobility solutions tailored for the Chinese market. The Audi Q6L e-tron and Audi Q6L Sportback e-tron are set to launch in 2025, with plans for the introduction of the Audi A6L e-tron also on the horizon.
