Record Sales Milestone
Munich. BMW M GmbH has once again demonstrated its prowess in the performance vehicle market, achieving remarkable sales growth for the year 2025. This marks the 14th consecutive year of record sales, with a total of 213,457 vehicles sold, surpassing the previous year’s figure of 206,582 by three percent. This impressive sales figure represents nearly 10% of all BMW vehicles sold, with a notable share of 9.8% dedicated to BMW M models.

“Our 14th consecutive sales record validates our strategy. We will continue to offer performance and high-performance vehicles across the entire BMW model range, utilizing fully electric, partly electric, and traditional internal combustion engine powertrains,” stated Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH.
Key Growth Drivers
High-performance executive models such as the BMW M5 have been pivotal in driving sales growth. The BMW M5 Sedan boasts an energy consumption of 17.6–17.2 kWh/100 km and a fuel consumption of 5.0–4.8 l/100 km (WLTP), with CO2 emissions between 114–108 g/km (WLTP). The BMW M5 Touring features similar efficiency stats, with energy consumption at 18.1–17.6 kWh/100 km and fuel consumption of 5.3–5.0 l/100 km (WLTP). Both models are equipped with an M HYBRID system that produces a peak output of 535 kW (727 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.
M2 and M3 Models Lead the Charge
The BMW M2 Coupé was crowned the best-selling high-performance vehicle of 2025, offering a combined fuel consumption of 10.2–9.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 230–221 g/km (WLTP). Meanwhile, the BMW M3 family continues to attract performance enthusiasts with various models, including the entry-level M3 that features a six-speed manual transmission and outputs 353 kW (480 hp). The recently launched M3 CS Touring variant delivers an impressive 405 kW (551 hp).
X3 M50: Best-Selling Model
The BMW X3 M50 emerged as the best-selling model for BMW M GmbH in 2025, combining a fuel consumption of 8.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 189 g/km (WLTP). This model integrates M TwinPower Turbo technology with 48-volt mild hybrid capabilities, yielding a maximum output of 293 kW (398 hp). The X3 M50’s performance and design have established it as a leader in the premium mid-size SAV segment.
Market Performance and Strategy
In key markets, BMW M GmbH outperformed competitors significantly, particularly in the U.S., where over 72,000 units were sold. Other strong markets include Canada, Germany, Korea, South Africa, and the UK. In China, BMW M GmbH recorded its largest absolute sales increase.
Motorsport Success
Motorsport remains integral to BMW M GmbH’s identity, with the BMW M Hybrid V8 and BMW M4 GT3 EVO achieving over 180 victories in 2025 across various championships. Notable triumphs include a 1-2 finish at Road America and strong performances at prestigious events like the Nürburgring 24 Hours and Suzuka 1000.
