The production of the Karma Revero draws its reverence after eight years of existence, but its emblematic DNA continues to live on through its successor, the Gyesera. With strong roots in automotive innovation, this electrified sedan is preparing for its return in a revamped form while keeping the spirit that made it famous.
A Farewell to the Revero
Karma Automotive has officially ended the production of the Revero, a model that has made an impression since its launch in 2016. This luxury coupe, the result of bold design mixing eccentric styling and hybrid power, took over from the Fisker Karma, which was itself iconic in the field of electrified vehicles. The model was launched with a promise of performance and style, and it kept that promise until the end.
The last version of the Revero, recently unveiled by the brand on its social media, features a sophisticated green finish with a beige and black interior. At 5,065 mm long, this model has captivated automotive enthusiasts. However, it is unclear whether this last unit will be offered to a private buyer or if it will join the manufacturer’s collection.
A Legacy That Endures
The Revero, although now retired, leaves behind a legacy that Karma promises to continue. The brand stated: “The legacy does not end. It endures.” It is with this philosophy that the Gyesera is presented as the direct successor to the Revero. This new model retains the aluminum chassis of its predecessor while incorporating notable improvements.
In its final version, the Revero offered a combined power of 536 horsepower (400 kW / 544 PS) and a torque of 550 lb-ft (746 Nm) thanks to its extended-range electric motor. Its 28 kWh battery pack allowed for up to 129 km of 100% electric driving, for a total range of 579 km when including a gasoline tank.
The Gyesera: The New Rising Star
With the Gyesera, Karma seems to want to take a step forward while respecting its heritage. This model retains the aluminum structure but comes with a modernized body, blending carbon and aluminum for an even more refined aesthetic. While improved performance was hoped for, it turns out that the figures regarding range and battery capacity remain similar to those of the Revero.
However, what has changed is the power. The Gyesera is now rated at 558 horsepower (416 kW / 566 PS), providing a slight increase over its predecessor, although torque has slightly decreased to 546 lb-ft (740 Nm). The brand is currently accepting deposits of $5,000 for the Gyesera, with production initially set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. However, this timeline seems uncertain at this stage.
An Expanding Range
But the Gyesera is not the only project Karma is working on. The brand has also announced the development of the Amaris, a two-door model that promises to attract attention. Additionally, production versions of the Kaveya super coupe and the Ivara crossover have been revealed in concept form in 2023 and 2024, respectively. These new offerings show that Karma is not content to rest on its laurels but is actively seeking to diversify its portfolio.
Conclusion: Between Nostalgia and Innovation
The end of the Revero’s production is certainly a moment filled with nostalgia for electric and hybrid car enthusiasts, but it also marks the beginning of a new era for Karma Automotive. By continuing to evolve its legacy while integrating modern innovations, Karma seems determined to make a name for itself in the automotive market. The Gyesera could very well be the model that breathes new life into this brand, proving that even iconic models can evolve and adapt to the demands of the future.
